Inglis Sale produces record numbers

The 2025 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale has concluded in spectacular fashion, delivering record-breaking figures and reaffirming its status as a premier event on the global bloodstock calendar.

A total of 329 yearlings were sold over the course of the sale, generating a staggering $149.6 million in gross sales. The standout statistic was the record average price of $453,591 per lot—surpassing all previous editions of the sale.

Among the standout moments was the sale of a Zoustar filly out of The Actuary, which topped the charts at $2.6 million. The prized filly was purchased by American-based John Stewart of Resolute Racing, marking a significant international investment in the Australian market.

This year’s sale also saw a record 25 yearlings sell for $1 million or more, comfortably eclipsing the 18 seven-figure sales achieved in 2024. Buyers came from across the globe, including China, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, the Philippines, South Africa, the UK, the USA, and throughout Australia—highlighting the sale’s international appeal and reach.

Arrowfield Stud claimed top vendor honours, selling 39 of their 42 yearlings for a total of $22.06 million. On the buying side, powerhouse Coolmore led the charge, investing $10.4 million across seven lots.

The outstanding results signal continued confidence and enthusiasm in the thoroughbred industry, despite broader global economic uncertainty. The 2025 Easter Sale has not only set new benchmarks but also demonstrated the enduring strength and allure of Australia’s elite yearling marketplace.
